AGM & Planning Meeting Report
19th Sept 2018 - Report
Thanks for the great turnout at our meeting yesterday. We had 46 attendees and 15 apologies. This is evidence that the group is functioning well and enjoying our planned activities.
Quentin announced that his role as Group Co-Ordinator will conclude at years end and then introduced Brigitte Salwat as the incoming Group Co-Ordinator. She will be taking over from the start of 2019.
The meeting acknowledged and thanked the organisers of our Rallies during the past year.
Following a brief discussion of Rallies held over the past few years we commenced planning suitable rally dates and locations for next year.
We also agreed that we should avoid holding rallies during the first week of any U3A term as this may result in U3A members missing out on joining other U3A classes.
The following suggested dates, locations and organisers were nominated, subject to their final acceptance of the task. Once confirmed, the Wanderers website will be updated with the details.
15th to 18th February – Ballarat – Ann & Bob Powers.
15th to 18th March – Mansfield – Imi & Dieter Roscher.
10th to 13th May – Swan Hill - Trudi & Neville Murray.
Wed 17th July – Mid Year Lunch – Joan Christians.
16th to 19th August - Warburton – Dennis & Norma Robb.
6th to 9th September – Inverloch – Brigitte & Jurgen Salwat.
25th to 28th October – Marysville – Margaret Comport & Val Wirtanen.
15th to 18th November – Port Fairy – Lawrie & Alison Gaylard.
Wed 4th December – EOY Break-up - Georgina Hedderwick.
Doris Eynaud volunteered to assist as doorkeeper as required.
NOTE: Rally organisers please confirm your acceptance of these details by completing the acceptance form below or email to your acceptance to [email protected] so that the Wanderers website can be updated.
We then had a demonstration of the new U3A Wanderers website, (www.u3aknoxwcc.weebly.com) which must be used from the start of 2019. Click here for instructions on how to use the new website.
Please note that Rally bookings for the balance on 2018 must still be done from the old website.
Thanks to Lawrie Gaylard for opening the building for our meeting and for the use of his computer and internet access for the website demo.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to Quentin & Denise and a warm welcome to Brigitte in her new role.
