March Rally - TOORA
Toora Rally Report 35 Attendees
On Thursday we kicked off the March rally with a noisey happy hour, followed by a stroll in to town and some very nice pizzas and gelato at the local wood fired pizza restaurant.
Fridays weather was pleasant and two very fit cyclists rode to Fish Creek, while lesser mortals decided Forster was far enough and another group drove in to help fill up the court yard attached to a very nice cafe.
In the afternoon, barefoot bowls was the order of the day for 20 of the group, while others came along to watch and support the clubs bar.
If the Oh Bugger award was still in existence it would have been presented to Sal as he left his water bottle in Forster and Di had to drive over to retrieve it.
On Friday evening Russell and Anita entertained the group with their various instruments and older songs.
Saturday it was off to The Lions Den, for some where the local Lions club were selling bric a brac, then a dip in the pool. For others it was visit to Fish Creek, with a coffee to get started, followed by a visit to the local op shop, the wild goat gallery and a walk via the community gardens ( very nice apples ) to the incredible Celia Rosser Gallery.
Lunch was a picnic at Agnes Falls where more turned up and finally the wind farm. Other members enjoyed various activities with visits to Tidal River, Waratah Bay, The Tarra Bulgas and let’s not forget the local bird hide.
After such a busy day you would think it would be a quiet dinner but no our happy bunch were seated in the atrium of the pub which was just as well because we probably would have raised roof. To complete a busy day there was an hour or so out in the open singing some newer songs with our resident entertainers. Thanks Russell and Anita.
Sunday arrived very warm and windy. While several had to leave, due to other commitments, a group cycled while others drove to Port Welshpool. Here we all explored the Long Jetty, after which we all adjourned to a lovely little cafe of course. Great coffee and cake, plus lots of collectables and odds and ends for sale.
The afternoon was fairly lazy but those with caravans spent some time
pulling awnings in, stowing table and chairs as rain was
forecast, but not before we had an intimate happy hour followed by a well attended farewell BBQ.
Monday of course, it was “Back On The Road Again”
