Bridgewater Rally

Bridgewater Caravan Park May Rally, 2022
We had a very brave 19 people join our May rally.
The nights were very cold, but the days were sunny and beautiful with no rain. We also saw some spectacular sunsets at the park which also accommodated us all very well. The walk to town along the river was short but very pretty.
Bridgewater is a very small town with an art deco pub which we all spent Saturday night enjoying a great meal together. The only problem we had was those of us sitting a little close to the outside back door, when opened, was often forgotten to be closed and let the freezing cold in. However this didn't dampen our spirits.
A few people arrived on Wednesday that had organised to go to Bendigo on Thursday morning to see "The Elvis Expo" and kindly invited Geoff and myself to join them. The expo was amazing Movies to watch, display of clothes with 10 rooms filled to the brim of memories and lots of great music, if you are an Elvis fan this is a must do. Lunch in Bendigo and a browse in the shops then back to camp.
Thursday arvo most of the group arrived. We had a group fire pit at camp kitchen, Geoff not being the greatest fire lighter tried his best and with the help of Bob was up and running and was an excellent gathering point for drinks and nibbles. Most people meandered around the town Inglewood with lots of antique and collectables, Rena found the perfect size rolling pin, look out Shane.
We all enjoyed lunch there.
Lots did a trip around the gold mining sites; some went on bike rides, walking and visiting wineries. it was a very relaxed rally sitting around chatting in the sun. Uli tried his hand at fishing, no luck. Heidi bought the local art and giftware shop out. Anne ravaged the great nursery out of plants for a beautification project at home. Others supported the local voting venue by buying a sausage sizzle for lunch.
On Sunday night a small group visited the Morong pub for dinner for their local lamb and wine speciality, grown and raised by pub owner, what a sumptuous meal it was.
Geoff and I do hope everyone had a relaxing time, and thank you for the support and companionship that made the rally so enjoyable. Also a safe trip for the few that started their journey up north after leaving us on Monday.
Regards Geoff and Judy Miller.
