Christmas Picnic Report Friday 4th December 2020 Organiser: Brigitte Salwat |
Christmas Picnic Report.
How lucky are we?
Planning possibilities were limited. Restrictions on bookings , crowd numbers and mask wearing were unpredictable. But after close to a year without meeting, the U3A Knox Caravan Club were ever so keen to get together again. We not only found a way, but we did it under the best imaginable circumstances. We met at the Doongala Stables Picnic Ground in The Basin in the most amazingly conducive weather and totally beautiful environment. The turn-out was indicative of everyone's enthusiasm. I didn't count but it seemed like almost everyone was there. Certainly the car park was bursting. Almost no pre-organisation was necessary. Everyone brought their own tables, chairs, morning tea and lunch. There was the choice of sun or shade for everyone. With no limit on standing space, circulating and interacting was fluent. It was an absolutely great day and I know I will be remembering it with gratitude for a long time.
